FINALS!
why we do we need to take these exams at the end of each semester?
these finals are adding stress onto a highschool student life right before the big holidays..people are planning vacations and some people are actually leaving before finals adding more stress about the holidays and testing. its pointless to learn about 10-15 units in a semester already take chapter tests on them and then needing to test again on them monthes later with alittle review and cramming 150 questions into such a short time period. it wouldnt be so stressful if you only had to take one or two finals but most people take seven finals..seven big tests in three days only a couple days before christmas is crazy! not only do people freak them selfsout but if you fail a final and passed the chapter tests its saying something..we cant take 7 huge tests before a exciting holiday and it also hurts your GPA and lowers you grades! rarely does it help grades or GPA's! i think we should take finals after break and/or limit the tests question down to 50 or 60 questions.

Bl@ck Frid@y CR@AZ3!
"Days to Black Friday are decreasing and the storm is starting to brew. People are putting in efforts in research, taking down points, making lists and collecting supplies for camping, whereas a lot of them are also taking days off from work. This is all because of Black Friday coming soon to a retailer near you."(Black Friday nearing; shoppers and retailors prepare "article"). Black Friday is the one and only busiest shopping day of the year, a kickoff to the Christmas shopping season begins the day after thanksgiving. Stores open early and people are there ready to go to get the best sales out there. Statistics say Nearly 152 million people in America are preparing for this day. but why is such a crazy day? its the only time to get huge sales, sounds great right? well no the lines are wrapped around stores and lines to check out take forever, items are gone within minutes and people start fights.. yet people still go only because the sales. some people say do black friday shopping online, but then the expierence is gone..and the sales are better in stores..so why not get up early and shop? im in, great deals, intresting people...sounds good to me!

RoBo BaBy!
In the class parenting and family relations we are assigned a week to take care of a robot baby also known as “real care baby” or “think it over baby”. The baby does everything a real baby does it has to be burped, rocked, fed, and changing the diaper. This past week starting on Thursday November 10 I received the robot baby. I keep the baby till Monday November 14 till 8th period. I named the baby Olivia and the baby really takes it out of you. The purpose of the baby is to show you what a real baby would do and how much it would change your life and how hard it really is. The baby cries at all hours. On Thursday night the baby cried 13 times at night and kept me up every hour and a half and on Friday night the baby only cried twice and I got to sleep all night. On Saturday night the baby cried 18 times at night and I barely got sleep. The baby really gives a look into the future an makes you not want kids for a long time. The baby really takes a lot out of you and a lot of people give you many weird looks when out in public. The baby is good learning activity.

Jersey Shore:D
“You are what you watch” (Melisa Dahl) does watching a reality show like Jersey Shore make you dumber? It's called media priming -- the idea that the things we watch or listen to or read influence our emotions and our behavior. Think you're too smart to be influenced by the media you consume? Anything we see -- a person on the street, an ad on TV, a character in a movie has some influence on our next thoughts, emotions or actions, simply because it's on the top of your mind. So my question is does watching Jersey Shore make you dumber? The answer is yes it can make you feel dumber because what you just watched is on the top of your mind and a study has been done about “Some of the 81 volunteers were instructed to read a longer version of the "soccer hooligan" story, while others read a shorter version -- and the control group read a rather boring story in which Meier does nothing stupid. Then researchers gave the volunteers a multiple choice general knowledge test, including questions like, "What is the capital of Libya?" and "What kind of speed is expressed by the letter 'c' in physics?" and "Who painted La Guernica? To be fair, these are tough questions to answer sans-Internet regardless of whether you've just watched something vapid like "Toddlers and Tiaras." But, as the researchers write, "participants who read a narrative about a stupidly acting soccer hooligan performed worse in the knowledge test than participants who read a narrative about a character with no reference to his intellectual abilities”(bodyodd.msnbc.com). The answer according to this is yes because if you replace the soccer story with the jersey shore cast you would perform worse on the test.

What age should trick or treating stop?
Trick or treating: the cry by children at Halloween when they call at housetop stop trick or treating? Indicating that they want a present or money or else they will play a trick on the householder. Trick or treating is for children to go around the neighborhood getting candy or treats from others during the month of October near Halloween. The question is what is the appropriate age to stop trick or treating? According to pollwizard.com the graph indicates the trick or treating shouldn’t have an age limit

This graph indicates most people should never stop trick or treating and in my opinion and the second highest vote on this poll is at age 13. I think it’s weird when a teenager comes to your door asking for candy. That person probably thinks “wow these kids are desperate for candy” when realistically you can buy your own candy from the store for about 3 dollars. And if I look around I see more kids over the age of 13 trick or treating. It’s understandable when they have younger siblings but most of these teenagers are in groups of 5 or 6 trick or treating…I think they need to stop. It’s meant for little kids to go around for candy …not teenagers.

ADDICTED to facebook...:D
I believe people are addicted to Facebook. I believe i am one of those people. I’m a person with very little time to do stuff and i purposely make time to go on Facebook almost every other day, if not every day. You’re probably thinking what’s there to do on Facebook every day?
my answer is i don’t really know, i don’t go on the apps on Facebook because i personally don’t like those games.so what do i do? I creep on people haha its fun and something new every day! But seriously that makes it addicting? According to some bloggers on yahoo answers people say Facebook is addictive because you can speak to a distant friend. Instant messaging service, meet new people, etc... But then meeting new people could it be dangerous? Yes it can be dangerous if you meet someone then meet up with them in person and they become a stalker or someone very different then you thinks. I only add people on Facebook that i know personally or people that i have mutual friends with. But i think Facebook is a good website to have por que...i can talk to mi amigos from different areas and different states. But i do think i over use Facebook. As i believe others are to because 2/3 of the world is on Facebook....

Is the world going to end in 2012?
![]() |
mayan calander |
How did all he prophecies start from 2012? According to most websites the Mayan calendar was where it all started the Mayan village is in Mexico and the calendar ended on December 21 2012 making the world end. But that’s not the only prophecy out there. Saying the sun is going to blow up the oceans will dry out and etc. but according to http://www.nasa.gov/topics/earth/features/2012.html there is an article where NASA answers some specific questions and saying how the world is not going to end.
Question (Q): Are there any threats to the Earth in 2012? Many Internet websites say the world will end in December 2012.
Answer (A): Nothing bad will happen to the Earth in 2012. Our planet has been getting along just fine for more than 4 billion years, and credible scientists worldwide know of no threat associated with 2012.
According to http://www.endoftheworld2012.net/ there is an article that talks about past doomsday and how 2012 is just in the list of them, and how if the world lasted for this long already with all the other doomsdays that have failed we will be fine on December 21 2012. 2012 is just a more known doomsday than any other so there is more talk and more prophecies about it but people are just talking the talk and most scientists believe nothing will happen on this day.

is fright fest better then ever?
![]() |
six flags great america fright fest! |
"Fright Fest returns for its 21st season with more monsters, scare zones, shows and an all-new haunted house, Massacre Medical Center. Fright Fest is going to be bigger and scarier than ever before." said Hank Salemi, Six Flags Great America park president. Fright Fest runs weekends through October with more fright at night. This year Fright Fest is open later, to scare later. Fright Fest remains kid-friendly until 3 p.m. I have visited fright fest 3 times this year so far. The first time I went was on October 1 and I was scared out of mind not knowing what to think but then the 2 and 3 time I went I wasn’t scared at all. So better and scarier than ever? I don’t think so because I’ve only seen like a total of 15 monsters in one day and that’s starting at 3 and going till 9 or 11 at night. I also don’t think how its coaster during the day fright by night because I’m paying my money to get into fright fest to be scared the entire day, I understand for families with little kids but if you don’t want them scared t hen don’t bring them to a fright fest where there is monsters. I think they should have it scary all day long. The decorations this year are unbelievable but to match the decorations they need to have more monsters and so far I’m unsatisfied with the numbers I’ve seen. All the advertisement for fright fest says it better than ever and it’s scarier and bigger and better. But from years in the past it’s been way scarier and better and had monsters all day long but would still be kid friendly with the monsters out. So in my opinion the answer to the main question is no it’s not better than ever and I hope in the future it gets better.

is cheerleading considered a sport?
In a dictionary you may find the word "sport" defined as a "physical activity that is
governed by a set of rules or customs and often engaged in competitively."
That only makes considering cheerleading more difficult. According to the
Women's Sports Foundation the following criteria has to be met to be considered
a sport:
· A physical activity which involves propelling a mass through space or
overcoming the resistance of a mass
· A contest or competition against or with an opponent
· Is governed by rules which explicitly define the time, space and purpose
of the contest and the conditions under which a winner is declared
· The acknowledged primary purpose of the competition is a comparison of
the relative skills of the participants
governed by a set of rules or customs and often engaged in competitively."

· The acknowledged primary purpose of the competition is a comparison of
the relative skills of the participants
Cheerleading is meeting all these requirements. According
to Teen Ink all the guidelines above are met. So cheerleading is a sport. But
is it all cheerleading teams? The answer is no, only competitive cheer teams
are considered a sport; those are the teams that are meeting the guidelines. So
the sidelines cheerleaders'is to entertain the crowd and lead them with team cheers, which should not be considered a sport. On the other hand, competitive cheerleading is a sport. Competitive cheerleading includes lots of physical activity. Like gymnasts, cheerleaders must learn to tumble. They perform standing back flips, round flip flops, and full layout twists. Cheerleaders also perform lifts and tosses. This is where the "fliers" are thrown in the air, held by "bases" in different positions that require strength and
cooperation with other teammates. Just like other sport, cheer has guidelines for competitive play. The whole routine has to be completed in less than three minutes and 15 seconds and the cheerleaders are
required to stay within a certain area and the way to be considered the winner is to have the most difficult stunts, tumbling, jumps, etc. so according to these guidelines and Teen ink cheerleading is considered a sport. And coming from a cheerleader's point of view I believe cheerleading takes a lot more than what people expect they only see us when we perform and when we try to make it look so easy, but they don't
see us behind screen when we are learning all the stunts and performing new tumbling skills. Cheerleading takes a lot and meets all the guidelines so I also consider cheer a sport.

over obssesd with "the notebook"
Everyone knows of the movie "the notebook" it's about an epic love story about a young man who falls in love with a rich lady and gives her a sense of freedom. But the question is about this movie is why is everyone so obsessed? Im almost positive there are other movies out there that are very similar to this movie for example "dear john" or even the movie the "evening". So why is everyone in love with this movie? According to IMDB (the internet movie database) more than half the people who posted, rated this movie a 9 or a 10 out of a 10.im not arguing that this movie is bad, I like this movie a lot but I just don't understand the crazy obsession of this movie. On another website there are 10 different advice's from the movie the notebook. Considering that people listen to advice doesnt it explain the obsession for this movie? I know how crazy girls are about this movie but do guys like this movie as well? The answer is no most guys dont like this move. So therefore there are two opposing point of views out there. So according to database majority of girls are obsessed with "the notebook" and almost all guys don't like this movie.

homecoming
Saturday night was homecoming, it was held by boom entertainment B96 in the field house. Before the dance i took pictures at jack's house at 5:30 we also ate dinner there. When we arrived at the dance the line to get in was all the way to the baseball fields. The dance was crowded and it was the first time held in a different gym. There was really no decorations in the gym but it was still cool because B96 held it, the lighting and the disco ball made the gym look cool and the Dj and the host were actually into the dance as well. The gym was ungodly hot. it was almost impossible to move people were so close together. After the dance i went back to jacks house to watch insidious but i fell asleep so i ended up not even watching the movie. Then around 1:00 Kelsey woke me up to go back to her house and then we were up talking and watching toddlers in tiaras till about 3:00. The next morning we woke up at 11:00 and we went in Kelsey’s hot tub and then i went home and did homework. That is what my homecoming weekend consisted of. Plus i think it’s the best homecoming dance by far i believe it’s going to be weird when we don’t hold are dances by B96 now.
